K9 Replacement
We are currently raising money to purchase and replace a valuable member of our team. K9 Vetti has kept our community and officers safe since 2015 but for the sake of being fair to her, it’s time to retire.
K9 Vetti is having some spinal and trachea issues which is making it harder for her to train hard and work hard. We care about our K9’s here at the Longmont Police K9 Association and the Longmont Police K9 Unit. We want to give K9 Vetti the retirement she deserves. Her days of lounging on the couch with her family have come and it is well earned.
K9 Vetti has located several violent suspects, talked many more into surrendering peacefully, and has located a large quantity of illegal narcotics. These amazing dogs/partners are the only less lethal option that we can recall once sent. Nothing else can come back once deployed.
We are very much supported by our city and police department. We can not thank the City of Longmont enough. The level of support is nothing short of amazing. Our community has also been extremely supportive and we thank you. With that being said, 2020 has brought unprecedented obstacles. We understand that you too have experienced a very rough year. We ask that if you cannot afford to donate then please get the word out www.lpk9.org and share. Every little bit helps.
There is a lot of equipment that goes into keeping these animals safe, from the kennel at home to the kennel and safety equipment in the vehicle.
