The Problem
My name is Joanie Dickerson. I’m a 55-year-old disabled woman from Mount Clemens, Michigan. On April 5, 2023 my neighbor’s townhome exploded causing consequential damage to the house and the attached homes.
Although, the investigation has commenced, myself and my 22-year-old son, Jorelle Dickerson, who lives with me, will be unhoused by January’s 2024.
The housing portion of my home owner’s insurance has been depleted and is being used to pay for my current housing which is $1545 a month.
Although residents have been OKed to return to our homes, I am concerned for my personal health and safety, especially as someone who is just recovering from COVID, and don’t feel safe returning until the damaged townhouse is torn down.
What We Need
What we need is help paying for rent (which is $1545/mo) at our current place until the damaged home is in torn down. As of now, my last payment will be made in December.
Any donation you can offer for this cause would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
— Joanie
