National Memorial for Police Dogs
What is The National K9 Memorial UK?
The National K9 Memorial was founded by Paul Nicholls, a recently retired Essex police dog handler. The
project has received the backing of many high profile people, including the former Policing Minister. We
are a small team and receive no government funding for the project.
What is The National K9 Memorial UK doing?
On 12th April 2019 we unveiled the Memorial statue, designed by sculptor John Doubleday, to remember all police dogs that are serving across the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
What else does the National K9 Memorial do?
The K9 Memorial is also responsible for presenting our Memorial Medals to Police Dogs.
Is this the official donation page?
Yes. This is the Memorial's official donation site, and place to buy merchandise. You can check our
Facebook and Twitter to see this is the genuine donation page. This page has been set up by Paul Nicholls,
the Memorial's founder.
Why should there be a Memorial?
Around the world, Police Dogs are remembered in various ways. There are some magnificent memorials
dedicated to them. However, the UK has a plaque within the Police Memorial Garden. We think they deserve more recognition.
Where does the money go? How much do you take for yourselves?
100 percent of all donations goes directly to the Memorial. There are no deductions made for staffing
(everyone is a volunteer) or merchandise.
Is The National K9 Memorial a charity?
