Help Chani with her PVNS Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rohit Khandekar, and I am a longtime friend of Chani Murat-Ewing. She has helped me time and time again when I'm in need, so I'm creating this campaign to help my dear friend in her time of need.
Chani has a rare disease called Pigmented Villonodular Synovitis (PVNS). PVNS is a benign (non-cancerous) tumor that arises from the soft connective tissue of joints, there is no cure besides surgery, and this is, unfortunately, her fourth surgery.
Why is this round different than before? This time, it's an open surgery where they clean out the entire joint from the front and back of her right knee to remove the three tumors. Recovery is extensive, and she's not sure what to expect. Today she got word that the surgery is happening sooner than expected (December 23rd) which is good news because she loses health coverage at the end of December, but bad news because she hasn't had time to plan her schedule or finances.
The effects of this surgery will be a significant burden being that neither Chani or Joel will be able to work during the beginning of her recovery. Chani will be unable to drive, bend her knee or help wrangle their three year old son. This unexpected financial stress is why I am asking for your help. Chani is a sweet and compassionate soul who empowers everyone she meets. When the pandemic was in full swing, she gave me a chance when no one else would, and it gave me the opportunity to pursue a career. It hurts me to see my friend suffer, so I humbly ask everyone able to support her in her recovery. Every bit helps; we know that the holiday season is a tough time to donate, but your kindness would help her tremendously as she recovers and gets back on her feet (literally!). Your donation will go towards her living costs and medical follow-ups that will no longer be covered in Jan.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and please keep her in your thoughts.
