Help Kabir Kadre Bridge the Gap - Q1 2024

Donation protected
Kabir Kadre is a beloved friend and inspiring human living with quadriplegia. He needs help to stay in his home and pay his caregivers.

After a rollover truck accident in 2002, Kabir lives with quadriplegia. He relies on a rotating team of 5 – 6 caregivers to provide the physical functions of life.

Paid help needed every day: get out of bed, cook, feed, drink, wash, lift from the bath and toilet, change the colostomy bags, transportation to medical appointments and community activities, go to bed, and sometimes a wheelchair-push down the sidewalk.

Since the accident, Kabir has worked relentlessly to balance life's physical and spiritual demands. Out of his lived experience, Kabir created Omni - Directional Care Awareness (ODCA) and MettaCare – ideas that benefit all who are disabled.

Kabir's bravery and creativity helped him survive and thrive for 20 years, beyond
the expectancy of most people with quadriplegia. As a result, he has outlived the
accident settlement that sustained him.

Kabir's vision of a better world of care for everyone is what keeps him vital and alive. This is why we need your short-term help to keep Kabir working in his home while paying his staff of caregivers.

By staying in his home, Kabir can share his gifts with the world via writing, coaching, and developing ODCA / MettaCare.

Being forced by finances to dismiss the care team and leave home would be a life-threatening loss of community and a blow to his creative work. His only options will be hospitals or poor-quality nursing homes.

We hope to raise enough money to help Kabir thrive through the end of the year. This will allow Kabir and his support community to seek investments or grants for a newly launched non-profit supporting his work.

Your contributions will pay rent, bills, food, clothing, and, most importantly, caregiving. Kabir also needs help with the logistics of recruiting, hiring, and training caregivers.

The barebones cost of his care is upwards of $10,000 per month. With $20,000 per month, Kabir can work more and, we hope – thrive. So we ask for $60,000.
Donations to this GoFundMe are dedicated to his depleted financial trust.

Help generate a ripple effect of compassion by sharing this with your network. Please contribute any amount.
