Kachin Conflict Relief

Donation protected
Please help us in providing relief to the civilian victims of the October 9th airstrike on the Laiza Mung Lai Hkyet refugee camp. The Burmese Military Council is carrying out atrocities against ethnic minorities in Myanmar, and the victims of their cruelty need our help to recover.

Zai's Testimony:
On October 9th, 2023, an agonizing incident unfolded in Kachin State, Myanmar, that has left our community reeling in shock and despair. The Myanmar military junta executed artillery on the Mon Laik refugee camp, resulting in the tragic loss of innocent lives, including numerous children and women.

The brutality of this attack serves as a painful reminder of the ongoing atrocities endured by ethnic minorities in Myanmar. As a member of the Kachin community from Myanmar, I am compelled to share this harrowing account and seek your compassionate support for the victims of this heinous act. Our narrative is one of enduring resilience and hope in the face of unimaginable adversity.

To truly grasp the gravity of our situation, it is crucial to acknowledge our history. Myanmar, a land of rich diversity, has been marred by conflict for decades. The Kachin people, one of the many ethnic groups in Myanmar, have faced relentless persecution and violence. Our community has borne the brunt of war crimes, atrocities, and an ongoing 70-year-long civil war.

As a part of the Kachin community, I have personally witnessed the devastating impact of this conflict on our lives. Our loved ones and friends have been forced to flee their homes, often with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Myanmar military attacks and the presence of landmines have left a trail of destruction, affecting our physical well-being, cultural identity, and heritage.
In spite of these formidable challenges, the Kachin people stand strong and resolute. We persist in our struggle for our rights and autonomy, with community-based organizations and initiatives dedicated to helping our people and preserving our rich culture. One such organization, the Kachin Baptist Convention, plays a pivotal role by providing education and healthcare to Kachin communities.

However, the path forward remains uncertain, and the recent events on October 9th, 2023, at the Mon Laik refugee camp have deepened our despondency. These camps were meant to serve as sanctuaries for those who had already fled multiple times, but they have now become targets. Our fellow Kachin in Myanmar are left with a profound sense of hopelessness, with nowhere to seek refuge.

Today, we implore the global community, to seek your support and solidarity. The absence of infrastructure and the ongoing persecution by the military make delivering aid a formidable challenge. Now, more than ever, survivors need assistance from those whose homes have not been ravaged by tragedy.

Your donation will provide vital medical aid, financial relief, and shelter to the victims of the Tatmadaw junta's brutality. Your contributions will aid in delivering urgently needed relief, supporting our community-driven initiatives, and helping us rebuild lives shattered by conflict.
Join us in standing with the Kachin people, who have displayed remarkable strength in the face of adversity. Together, we can effect change and put an end to the suffering in Myanmar. Your support can help us rebuild and heal lives torn apart by conflict.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for being a beacon of hope in these dark times. Your generosity will leave a profound impact on the lives of those who desperately need it.
