Update- Urgent update! Please pray for Kaci and her medical team. Many things have been transpiring since Thursday, I’m sorry I haven’t been able to respond to messages. It’s extremely touch and go. Only God can heal Kaci, please pray for peace and comfort for her and us during this time.

Update-Dec 15
A lot has happened with Kaci over the last 48 hours. Kaci was doing great and then took a turn. Her splenic artery was ruptured and she received 30 units of blood. it’s a miracle she is with us currently but she has a lot up against her right now. She is back on the ventilator and the surgeons and medical team are all working together for the best outcome for Kaci, Prayers please!

**UPDATE**
So sorry I haven’t updated, I have started a new job and have been coming to and from Asheville every second I can.

Kaci was extubated a few days ago! Couple hiccups here and there, they had to insert a chest tube to help decompress her lung from the fluid.

Yesterday she had a great day with her Mom. She watched the entire Harry Potter movie and without asking for pain meds! I couldn’t wait to get off work and get to her…I brought Christmas coloring books and crafts to help with dexterity.

On my way to Asheville they removed her chest tube and nicked an artery. She now has a bleed that now compressing her
Lung again. They have hung multiple
Bags of blood for her and entered and addition THREE chest tubes to try to drain the blood, they have gotten some out but not all.

All of this to say, Kaci is back on the ventilator for the third time.

I’m confused and waiting and watching and trying to understand it all. I really don’t know what’s happening next.

Please keep those prayers coming for our STRONG girl. I’ve never seen anyone fight like this. God has big plans for her.

*******************************
Hello, I’m Lindsey, Kaci’s fiance. Kaci has been very sick for months but has recently declined over the last 3 weeks. She has necrotizing pancreatitis that goes from her pancreas down into her pelvis. She had 3 surgeries back to back and 12 inch wound was left open each time. They finally stapled her up and she was on the vent for 9 days before slightly waking up. They removed the day before thanksgiving. She was bed bound, couldn’t walk or talk, but she was neurologically there!!!!! That next night they put her back on the vent due to her lungs not being able to keep up. She is now out like a light and you can see the pain in her face. She has a leak in her stomach that is coming out of one of her drains they are going to have to possibly repair. Today they did a chest tube to get extra fluid out around her lungs causing her to be septic. It’s a long long road for Kaci. She will more than likely be in the hospital/inpatient care for months. We had both just started new jobs so I have been missing without pay and she has no pay or no insurance. Medical bills, utilities, daily life expenses are hitting us in the face. Thank you soooo much for the prayers. If you feel led to donate thank you. God will take care of my Kaci! Please pray!!

Shout out to the nurses in the STICU at
Mission in Asheville. They are taking wonderful care of the best person I know.
