5/3/24 It’s been a minute. Here’s the latest update from Tara
Kade Update: It's been a little bit but we are getting settled in at the Shepherd Center. Again, can't even begin to explain how wonderful these people are. This week, Kade went to Mend Coffee shop. He was super impressed with it and it's mission (look them up. He should be on their Instagram soon). Today, was another surgery. He had pins placed in his left ankle. He continues to charm and amaze everyone here with his positive outlook and silly sense of humor. That's what's keeping this mama going!

Kade Update: Kade has had a couple of really good days. Despite have, PT, OT, ST, and so many doctors and nurses come in, we did get to have a couple of silly pictures taken today and played a little xbox yesterday. He's my rock star!!
I’m sharing this message sent to Tara from Meommy regarding Kade.
Received this beautiful text today from Mary Anne Wages Frost. The message conveyed is so comforting and full of hope. "Just wanted to say what I've been thinking ever since I found out about the accident, that God gave Kade life on Palm Sunday, saved him from death on Good Friday, and gave him a new life on Easter weekend. Even though none of us wanted this to happen, I firmly believe that Kade is going to do amazing things." With everyone's prayers and God's love, he WILL do amazing things.

Well, Kade got new wheels for his birthday.
He’s getting settled in at Shepherds Place.
4/9/24 update from Tara
Kade Update: Tomorrow, we head out for the next leg of our new adventure, the Shepard Center in Atlanta. Please pray for a smooth transition and as little pain as possible for Kade.
4/6/24 From Tara:
Kade Update: Lots of resting today. He's done a little bit of PT &, in true Kade fashion, a whole lot of complaining. He wants to go home. But that's going to be a while. Still not completely out of the water with his right foot. We know he has at least two more surgeries (upper left arm & right foot). Once they much is out of Huntsville, we are hoping to head to the Shepard's Center in Atlanta for in patient rehab for the spinal cord injury. Your prayers are felt and so very much appreciated. Please continue. He's got a rough road ahead of him. I'm just so bossed that my baby boy is still with us and is still himself. We love you all!

THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO AMPUTATE!!!
4/5/24 Y’all continue to hold my ‘Noodle Boy’ in your prayers, along with his mom, my person, Tara. Kade will have a lower limb amputation today due to VRE. He of course is processing this entire chain of events in true Kade fashion (thank you Lord!).
I’ve included the post from his sister: Hey yall! I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, kind words, and support shown to our family the past few days. It’s truly been so helpful. Tonight, I ask that y’all please pray a little extra tomorrow morning as my baby brother undergoes his 4th surgery in 5 days. This one is a big one as they will be amputating his right foot due to complications with a resistant infection. Now, not only has he lost his ability to walk, but he is losing parts of his body. Kade is being typical Kade about it and can’t wait to get a Lego leg to replace his own! But this can’t be easy for him. Please pray for steady, skillful hands for his medical team, for strength and courage for those of us supporting him, and for healing and a continued good attitude about the whole thing for Kade. If anyone can turn this terrible situation into something positive, it’s our Kade! And we can’t wait to see what he does with his new reality as healing starts and he becomes this new version of himself. P.S. if anyone knows where I could get a lego leg made, please let me know! Because if that’s what this boy wants, then I’m gonna make it happen!

To meet Kade is to know Kade and to know Kade is to love Kade (whether you want to or not - spoken like a true sister). Kade’s larger than life personality has always made him the life of any party and he’s never met a stranger. In his almost 21 years on this earth, Kade has spent his time singing, dancing, and always finding something to laugh at, even if that laugh came at his own expense. In the very early hours of March 30, Kade was involved in a car accident that will change his life forever. We know that his larger than life personality mentioned earlier will get him through this and help him to make the best of this situation. He had a job as a manager at a doggy daycare, an apartment with two others, two dogs to care for, and all of the expenses of being a human and we are unsure, at this time, when Kade will be able to return to work. On top of his regular expenses, there is so much unknown as far as medical expenses goes. This GoFundMe was set up by a dear family friend to assist in not only the cost of just being alive but also the costs associated with becoming a new version of Kade (rehab, wheelchair, making everything in his life wheelchair accessible - including a vehicle, etc). We know times are tough for everyone but every little bit helps. Kade, his precious pups (Jenny and Roscoe), and the rest of the family greatly appreciate anything anyone is able to give. We also appreciate the prayers as they have been felt. We ask that, even if you’re unable to give, please share this. Thank you and God Bless! -Abigail (Kade’s sister)

Friday night, 3/29/24 Kade was involved in a single vehicle accident. He’s currently in the hospital and will have an extensive recovery/rehab period. This will of course mean that he will be unable to work. I’m creating this so that anyone who is able, can donate toward his monthly expenses. As more information is available this will be updated. We thank you for anything you’re able to contribute and I know Kade appreciates you as well.
