Kai Baker and Elijah Farrar. Tragically drowned.
Donation protected
Hi Everyone, My name is Heather Larsen. I'm starting this fundraiser in hopes to help the 2 familes who very suddenly and unexpectedly lost their 2 young sons at a local lake from a horrible incident where both boys drowned. These 2 boys were good friends with my youngest son Kyler. It shakes me to my core.. just 2 nights prior Kyler and a few friends had a sleepover with Kai at his home.. and now this. How would we have ever known, that those would be their last memories made with one of their best friends. I absolutely hate this devastation and pain, I hate knowing these 2 wonderful familes will now carry the burden and pain of child loss.. a pain I carry and know all too well. I wish no one ever had to feel this.
Kai Benjamin Baker was a young, vibrant, caring, sweet 10 year old boy who had a promising future ahead of him. He was a child everyone adored. He was so warm, he cared beyond measure about his family and friends as they all did him as well. He just had that special place in hearts. He would be going in to the 5th Grade at WOE.
Elijah Farrar was full of life, full of laughter, he shined when he walked in to a room with his contagious smile. I believe he was on his way to do great things in track and possibly other sports. He was good at everything he did. I never once would see him that he wouldn't run up to me with the biggest hug that would make my entire day. I could feel his love and it was big! He would also be going into 5th grade at WOE.
I looked forward to watching all of our boys grow up together through the school years. This summer had brought them all together many times getting to make memories they will all hold near & dear to their hearts.
When I had to tell my son this heartbreaking news, the wail, the cry, the sound he let out was one that I will never forget. It was from pain that many people will never truly understand, my darling son was devastated to have lost 2 bestfriends without warning. He cried out, "What about their familes, Mom?!? What about them. I just want them to not hurt" I will assume these thoughts came from him seeing the devastation that child loss can have on a family, and knowing first hand how hard it really is. He cried out for Brie, which is Kai's Mom. He cried for them all & for himself. It's just a difficult thing to go through for everyone involved. Please pray and wrap your loving arms around these 2 beautiful familes and the friends of Kai & Elijah, as there will be a lot of pain & mourning. The suffering, the guilt, all of it. It's unbearable. Pray peace, healing, understanding & strength over the familes and friends of these children.
Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn;for they shall be comforted."
I started this GoFundMe in hopes to raise some money to give the familes to put toward funeral services or wherever the money would help them most. I would also like to have a photo blanket made for each family with their child's pictures on it. Kyler would also like to include a gift for each of their older brothers. We would like to get the necklace/bracelet that have a simple bead or something then when held to the light you can see their photo, that way they can carry their brothers near them and see their faces when they need to. Elijah's family has started a GoFundMe, Kai's family has not. That's why I took place to do so, we will hopefully be able to get the memorial items for the familes and allow them to use any remaining funds to use as they see fit. For the funerals, for bills, again for however they need it. So thank you many times over for any and all help.
If you are able to share &/or donate to this cause it will be greatly appreciated by the 2 families mourning their young sons taken so suddenly. Above all continue to pray specifically for the familes and friends who are lost right now. They need guidance, love, help and patience more than anything.
Let's support these familes and love them well. Thank each and everyone of you who have taken the time to read this post, to follow the stories and to contribute when it is needed most.
