Kaia Rolle 6 year old arrested in Orlando fund

Update.

Hello, this Meralyn Kirkland, Kaia Rolle’s grandmother. I have had to update the gofundme to seek assistance in paying  for a school for Kaia to attend. Because of the trauma Kaia suffered in the incident with the police officer, she is now terrified of attending schools that have uniformed officers on campus; which, is now mandated for all public schools. It is her therapist’s recommendation that she completes this school year in a police-free school environment. The funds will be used to pay for Kaia’s schooling and to provide assistance for her ongoing therapy. Thank you all again.

My name is Meralyn Kirkland and I live in Orlando, Florida. Recently, my six year old granddaughter Kaia Rolle was arrested and processed by the police for throwing a tantrum in school. The State Attorney and Orlando Police Department have recently said that she should never have been arrested and have thrown out the charges. I have gotten legal advice to have her records totally destroyed from her history and because of the trauma she has suffered, I have arranged to get counseling for her. However, to have both done are costly and I have been off from work taking care of her since the incident. We have had many people reach out to us asking if she has a gofundme because they would really like to help her out. The funds will be used to pay for legal representation to have Kaia’s arrest record/ finger prints erased, to seek counseling for her from the trauma and to provide assistance for her care during this time. Kaia and I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has expressed a desire to assist us in this very stressful time, whether it was a kind word of support or a request to physically assist.
