Kailan's medical, travel & recovery expenses.

Hi all,

My name is Jessica, I am Kailans wife's sister.

On July 23rd in the afternoon the unthinkable happened when Kailan sustained serious non life threatening injuries while repairing some farming equipment.

Kailan has severe burns to his left forearm & the left side of his neck. The more serious burns are the ones he sustained internally to his throat/trachea which have lead kailan to be placed on a ventilator (he is breathing on his own with assisted oxygen) this measure was put in place to ensure he could still get an adequate amount of oxygen as his throat/neck are very swollen. He is currently in stable condition being monitored in the Nanaimo ICU.

The time frame for kailan to be extubated is unknown at the moment because the swelling in his trachea is quite extensive the doctors need to allow time for the swelling to come down before a scope can be performed to see what the tissue is like & assess further treatments.

The road to recovery with any injury is long, burns are no exception. At this time the family does not have a time frame on any recovery or even what tomorrow will bring.

What i am asking for is any help for Kailan, wife Christina and two daughters Kaylyn & Hannah is to have some of the financial burden taken off, as Christina is having to travel daily from mid Island to nanaimo hospital to be with kailan.

Kailan is the main provider in the household & would never want any financial hardships to fall on his family. He is one of the most caring & open hearted people I have the pleasure of calling a brother in law.

He is a son, a friend & a brother who would give as much as he could to those who needed it.
