Kailey needs our help to recover!

Update: our girl is weak today and needs a blood transfusion we need prayers she feels better after that

Hi everyone I’m Melissa Auntie of Kailey Bug and she really needs our help. In May of this year, Kailey Hughart lost her ability to work as an ultrasound technician (sonographer) due to complications from previous back surgeries. A much needed complex surgery was finally completed at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville, TN on August 7th. However, this would prove to be only the beginning of her torturous journey.

Her spinal cord was torn and created a significant spinal fluid leak which led to numerous complications. It is now more than two months later and Kailey has had four hospital stays totaling 32 days (two major surgeries for deep wound infections including one with life-threatening sepsis).

Kailey is continuing her recovery at home for the next six weeks with two wound drains and a PICC line for her home IV antibiotics. After six

weeks of not being able to walk, she is beginning to regain her strength and is hopeful to be able to return to work in December. Thus far, she has been able to pay or postpone much of her school and household financial responsibilities, however, she has reached her capacity and is in need of assistance moving forward with school, medical and household expenses.
