Celebration of Life on Maui for Kaipo Jenkins

Aloha everyone.

On October 25th, 2022, our beloved father, Kaipo Jenkins, passed away suddenly at his home in Maui.  He was an incredible man: a public school teacher on Maui for over 35 years and an accomplished coach and mentor to thousands of youth. He was a pillar in the community, an artist, a fisherman, a faithful Minnesota Vikings fan, and a friend to all. He always saw the good in people. Every person in the world was just a friend he hadn’t met yet. The best dad to his 4 children, and grandpa to his 3 grandchildren, he was looking forward to making so many more memories with us.

We know how loved our father was, and how many lives he's touched throughout his life as a teacher, coach and mentor. We want to honor him, and also give all those who loved him as much as we did the opportunity to show their aloha, too.

We have planned a Celebration of Life for our father on Maui on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at the Maui Beach Hotel Ballroom in Kahului.

Because he passed away suddenly, things weren't in place for his funeral expenses and other costs associated with his passing. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help pay for these expenses, and to bring our ohana together for his celebration of life. Even though my siblings and I all live in different states, we know our father would want us all to come together for this occasion. A donation to this GoFundMe would help alleviate the stress of making this celebration on Maui happen and would allow us to host, feed and entertain everyone for the special day honoring him. We ALSO look forward to honoring our father and his legacy in education, mentorship and sports by creating a scholarship foundation in his honor! Any leftover funds from this fundraiser will go directly to that cause. More information on that is to come!
