Kairi Maxson

Friday September 30, at the suggestion of her pediatrician, the decision was made to bring one of our twins, Kairi, to Riley Children’s Hospital after a bout of severe pain in her abdomen, lower back, and chest. Tests and scans were performed and approximately 11pm that night we were informed she has a late-stage cancerous tumor in her kidney that had metastasized to her lungs, and liver. Results from a biopsy performed Sunday have revealed this to be a stage 4 Diffuse Anaplastic Wilms Tumor. Our sweet 7yo angel has been the embodiment of strength and bravery during this time. We have no doubt that she will overcome this 

battle in very short order, but the next ten months of treatment will be difficult for us all.
