Kaitlyn Forstner family

Hi!! I am starting this GofundMe on behalf of Chrissy Larson, who has been a Security Counselor for MSOP for close to 10 years. Her daughter, Kaitlyn, is 22 years old and has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer.

Here's a little history:

In September of 2022, Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. A biopsy confirmed that the cancer is a very rare type of fast growing carcoma cancer. She was referred immediately to the U of M for treatment. She began chemotherapy, where the treatment was 7 days in a row. She was then given 2 weeks off before beginning another round. The second round didn't yield the results the doctors were hoping for. Her liver enzymes became elevated to the point where they stopped treatment and continued to monitor her liver. On top of this, Kaitlyn developed an infection and was then treated for sepsis before being discharged from the hospital.

It was determined that Kaitlyn would then begin chemo five days a week, 5 hours per day, every three weeks. These treatments have been accompanied by numerous CT scans, MRI's, as well as additional biopsies on her liver in order to continuously monitor her liver enzymes.

Kaitlyn was approved for surgery and traveled to Milwaukee, WI this weekend for a 12 hour procedure since they specialize in her type of cancer. She will need to stay there a month to be monitored before returning to the U of M with the hopes of seeing her cancer in remission.

Chrissy has been working as much as possible (2 jobs) in between appointments and procedures. This money will go to help the family in many different ways along their journey. Please consider giving!!
