Sadly, we lost our beautiful Kaitlyn at just 16 from suicide. We are truly devastated and prayed this day would never come.
Kaitlyn fought a long hard battle against her mental health. After many struggles with depression and severe anxiety due to being bullied in school, Kaitlyn was switched to a new school.
She was a very thoughtful and kind individual with a huge passion for art, containing an extensive collection of drawings, paintings and digital art. Kaitlyn was also an incredible student earning straight A's in gifted and AP classes and playing the flute. She had recently planned on continuing her education in the Chinese language at a local community college when she began her junior year. Kaitlyn strongly loved animals, especially her leopard gecko "Echo."
She experienced bullying during her teen years and experienced significant trauma during the 2017 school year. While in a program for depression, Kaitlyn tried to hurt herself and was sent to inpatient for a week. On her second visit with the therapist, she stated she wanted to harm herself again, leading her back to inpatient and then to residential, hoping to get better again. For the 16 years she was in this world, she was an incredible person who always wanted to help others even though she was fighting her own battles. Kaitlyn was a beautiful, courageous, quiet and gentle soul who all will dearly miss.
We are reaching out for any support to help fund her funeral and honor her.
Our family is grateful for any contributions.
Thank you for your love and support.
