Kal and his emergency bladder surgery
Donation protected
Kal is a big, lovable boy with a personality as round as his belly. Born as a single kitten, he quickly became the center of attention in his home, and it’s easy to see why. Kal’s days consist of lounging in sunbeams, occasionally rolling over for a snack, and letting out a noticeably loud pigeon call purr when someone looks in his direction. Despite his size, he is gentle and has a heart as big as his girth, making him the best 24lb weighted squish mellow companion.
Kal suddenly became lethargic and started having trouble using the litter box. After a trip to the vet, it was revealed that he had a large urinary blockage, a painful and dangerous condition where the urethra becomes obstructed, preventing him from urinating.
The situation became critical quickly, and the vet recommended immediate surgery to relieve the blockage and prevent further complications, like kidney damage or rupture of the bladder. It was stressful for both Kal and his family, especially coming down from our Christmas high. His surgery went well, and he is currently in the ICU recovering.
We are hoping to raise money to help recoup the cost of his surgery. Any and all money we do not end up using towards his final bill, will be donated to Dog Tales Animal Sanctuary in York Region in Kals name
Kal means a lot to our family and despite his size, he is a very healthy boy. Just large and in charge. We understand with the holidays just behind us that times are tough however if you are able to contribute anything towards this sudden financial burden we would be forever grateful. Cole is currently on maternity leave and we are running a home of 4 on a single income.
