 Kalai Kuewa’s Heartbreaking Home Coming My name is Zsalyn Kuewa-Mokiao and I am the oldest daughter of Kalai. I was born and raised in Oahu but currently reside in Colorado. I have 4 younger brothers, a daughter, and 4 nieces and nephews. I am the primary organizer but we are raising the money as a family. On her 44th Birthday (4.20.2019), Kalai Kuewa passed away tragically in her San Antonio, Texas home. It hit everyone by storm. Kalai's family and friends are in great sorrow. We as a family took the news pretty hard... Kalai was a wonderful and beautiful person who lit up all of our days with her amazing smile and personality. Once we (as her kids) finally accepted this devastating news, we immediately came to the conclusion that taking her back home to Hawai’i was the best option in honoring her memory and putting her soul to rest.  Unfortunately her 5 children and 5 grandchildren are scattered across THE WORLD (from England to Hawai'i). We are frantically trying to gather sufficient funds to see her in such a short amount given and say goodbye one last time...   We are sincerely and humbly asking for sufficient funds to provide flights for all children, funds to embalm, cremate and have a private viewing for my mother and her/my family in Texas. The travel funds include rental cars, flights, hotels, and insurance/emergency expenses for everyone from CO, CA, TX, England, HI, and NC to Travel to TX collect my mothers remains and escort them back to Hawaii along with all of us kids. My mother's last wish was for her family to scatter her ashes in Hawaii on her favorite beach. To honor our mother, we have decided to this as a family but unfortunately we are such a big family that costs begin adding up. Once and if our goal is reached, I will be the primary beneficiary receiving the funds and purchase all travel itineraries, vehicles, and hotels as needed for all of us.
