For those that don’t know we have had a few very challenging months so far and a lot to still come but we are over joyed to announce the very early arrival of our precious miracle baby girl, Kalani Grace on the 4/4.

After a week of slowing down labour in the Royal women’s hospital Kalani was just too ready to come out. At 32.3 weeks she was born via c section. Kalani was then taken straight to the children’s hospital to await her surgery to remove her teratoma.

Simon was an absolute super dad and husband and ran between hospitals to support and be there for both his girls.

Kalani’s surgery got brought forward to the day after she was born. I was still yet to meet her and was unable to as I was still recovering at the women’s. Very emotional knowing she was in for such a big surgery and I couldn’t be there. 6 hours into her 10 hour surgery we got a call that they couldn’t stop the bleeding and she wouldn’t make it. We were to get to the hospital as quick as we could. My heart was shattered in so many pieces and it hurt so much to cry. I didn’t know if I’d get to see my baby girl. Hours of intense praying and having all the faith in the world that our precious Kalani would be ok and they finally brought us our baby girl.

All thanks and praise to God and the amazing medical team that never gave up on her.

Our Kalani Grace is such a fighter. We couldn’t be any more proud and in complete awe of her strength and fighting spirit. Each day she’s improving and getting stronger and less reliant on all her tubes and supports.

I got my first cuddle on the 8/4 and it was the best feeling ever.

Fast forward 7 months with a lot of tests and appointments in between, Kalani is back in Melbourne with more of the unknown.

Simmo, Chels, Jax & Kalani have been through enough without having the stress of financial pressures on them; any contribution Is greatly appreciated and the Clugston & Sanders families will be forever greatly for your support.
