Kalani Telles Help fight Cancer Glioblastoma
Kalani Telles is a son, husband, father and
friend. Kalani is the guy that will give you the
‘shirt off his back’, he is the guy that is
incredibly strong mind and spirit, He has
the most positive outlook on life. Despite his cancer diagnosis in 2008 two days after his
32nd birthday.
Kalani Telles has undergone radiation and
chemotherapy for several years since his
diagnosis in October 2008 where emergency surgery removed a mass in the front left lobe of his brain. This would be the beginning of a
very long battle with an Oligoastrocytoma
grade 2.
Unfortunately, Kalani will never be in
remission. The goal became treating him to
best prolong his life as his Drs are constantly
coming up with ways to equally balance that, with giving him the best quality of life. Kalanihas MRIs every 3 months to monitor this
tumor.
Recently, a routine MRI in March of 2020
showed signs of growth and the tumor was
changing. Kalani’s specialist requested a
second MRI, hoping that this may be just
fluid. Not wanting to have another surgery if there is no need to do so. That MRI in April
2020 indicated Kalani would need
emergency surgery. In which, will be his fourth brain surgery.
A specialist at Cedars-Sinai in California
performed the surgery on April 29, 2020 and was able to remove a large portion of tumor, however, discovered two additional small
tumors located in the right hemisphere of the his brain. Kalani will undergo heavy radiation treatments for the small tumors beginning
May 4, 2020 and will remain at Cedars-Sinai during treatment.
Kalani has since been re-diagnosed with
a Glioblastoma, it is a very aggressive type of tumor. We are very thankful for his team of
Drs that have been keeping him here on
earth with us for this long and we remain
very hopeful that with your love and support,we can keep him here on earth longer.
It is very hard to put a time stamp on your
loved one and we will continue this fight with Kalani!
As this has taken an immense toll on our little Ohana, We humbly ask... every prayer, every positive light/ thoughts, every dollar, and
every kind gesture of support is greatly
appreciated.
Mahalo for fighting along side with us!
