Hello my name is Sonja Ramirez-Dean the mother of 2 beautiful daughter's who's Life was taken by gun violence. Life has dealt me a devastating blow, and I find myself in a state of profound grief and disbelief. As a mother of three beautiful children from Indianapolis, Indiana, I never imagined that my world would be shattered like this. My heart aces, and I feel utterly lost

Just a short while ago, I had 2 incredible daughters, they were my pride and joy. Dispute not having much in terms of material wealth, I worked tirelessly to provide for my children and give them the best life possible. They were great,loving children just like any other.

But the past two years have been an unimaginable nightmare. From 2020 the family has experienced the devastating loss of loved ones. In May 2021, my oldest daughter Derisha Young #forever21 was taken from e in a senseless act of gun violence. With her whole life ahead of her. And, now here we are November 2023, my youngest daughter, Kaleiah Dean aka KaayKaay, was tragically gunned down and lost her life at the tender age of 14 years old, right in the parking lot of our own residence.

I can't put into words the PAIN and emptiness I feel. It's a pain that no parent should ever have to endure. Every day, I find myself questioning why this happened, why my beautiful daughter's were taken from us so suddenly and violently. It feels like a nightmare that I can't wake up from.

In the midst of this unimaginable grief I am reaching out to all those who are able to lend a helping hand.
