Kaley's First House!
Donation protected
Hi and welcome ya'll!
My name is Kaley and I have been "between-homes" since March 2020.
I work in restaurants (I'm a professional waitress) and was displaced when the food industry shut down in 2020, crushing small businesses across the country. I have been "between homes" since then.
During 2020 alone, I lived in seven different locations, from Granny's guest room and Airbnbs to a shipping-container-turned-cowboy-bunker on a beef ranch in very rural Wyoming.
Being "between homes" is stressful and awful, and if you're thinking, "just get a loan" note that it is nearly impossible to get a loan (even with excellent credit) as a waitress with, as the bank said, "variable income."
Without a loan or a million dollars cash, it is 99% impossible to buy a house in my hometown Boulder. But with your help, I can!
MORE ABOUT BOULDER:
If you know Boulder, you know that most "Boulderites" are not actually from Boulder. People move here because it's a wonderful place to live, but it's rare to find a true local! I was actually born here and attended preschool, middle school, high school, and college here at the University of Colorado (SKO BUFFS). My parents met at Fairview High School, which I also attended, and I grew up monkeying around the mountains with the Flatirons as my backyard. While I have traveled abroad, spent a semester in South America, and lived in Wyoming and Maine, I always returned to my home, Boulder. I am looking to purchase an affordable home to stay in my wonderful hometown and my favorite place in the world.
DID YOU KNOW??
The average cost of a home in Boulder is over a million dollars.
Boulder housing costs are an astonishing 73.3% more than Denver housing costs.
This means that the market is pushing out locals and average folks like me. Your donation KEEPS BOULDER WEIRD by keeping me in it :D
I am so excited you're considering helping me buy my first home in my beloved hometown!
Thank you!
Keep Boulder weird!
