Kam’s Krew - Fighting DIPG

Hi I’m Amy. Kambria’s aunt. Kambria was diagnosed with DIPG, a very rare and very fatal brain stem tumor. Survival odds are less than 1%.

There was a GoFundMe me earlier this year that raised over $40,000. Because of this, her dad Jerry was able to stay home from work for 4 months. Unfortunately, all that money is gone. Because of this, Jerry went back to work in May.

Kambria has had three weeks of a dose of an experimental and very promising drug called ONC201. She has been weaned off the steroids that made her body size increase considerably. Because of the discontinued steroids, Kambria’s tumor is now pressing more on her brain stem. She cannot use her right arm and her right leg is so weak she can no longer walk. My beautiful niece Rachel has been lifting her.

Jerry decided yesterday he is not going to go back to work for now. He works as a boilermaker welder and his jobs take him away from home for extended periods of time so Rachel is on her own with her three children. They live 2.5 hours from us so she has no one to help. Her friends help when they can but they are also busy with young families. They will have no money for health insurance, household bills, groceries, medical expenses etc.

Kambria has a sister Jerika 5 and a brother Grayson 4.
