Meet Kanishk, our incredible 16-year-old old, who, along with his parents, is taking on an adventurous Base Camp Challenge. Embarking on a 14-day hike in October while fundraising for a charity will be a transformative journey that will foster fearlessness and gratitude, shaping Kanishk as he transitions into adulthood. While doing so, he plans to raise vital funds—4000 GBP—for an orphanage in Nepal, overseen by the exceptional team at Sewa UK. The Magnificence of Everest Base Camp:

Picture this: Kanishk starts the 14-day hike to Everest Base Camp from Lukla (at an altitude of approximately 2,800 meters). Ascending further, Kanishk will reach Namche Bazaar, a vibrant Sherpa town at around 3,440 meters. Continuing, the path leads through captivating destinations such as Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche, surrounded by towering peaks and stunning vistas. The pinnacle of the adventure awaits at Kala Patthar, situated at an elevation of 5,643 meters. The golden rays of the sunrise casting a warm glow on the snow-capped Mount Everest create an awe-inspiring spectacle that will forever be etched in the memory of Kanishk. This remarkable journey encompasses the physical and mental challenge of reaching base camp and witnessing the fragile beauty of the Himalayas; they embrace their role as stewards of the Earth, promoting sustainability and cherishing the interconnectedness between humans and the natural world.

Kanishk is the group's youngest among 19 other brave souls in this daring expedition, united by an insatiable hunger for adventure. Talk about diversity in action! Training and Adventures:

Kanishk has been diligently preparing for this life-changing adventure. Since last December, he's been breaking his boots in challenging terrains and arduous snowy and muddy conditions. He has done 15-hour hikes starting at the first rays of the sun, leaving trails in his wake and blisters on his heels. For GCSEs during May and June, Kanishk has taken a break, but our young champ doesn't want to settle for ordinary training routines while gaining work experience for his A Levels during the summer.
