Help Kara Get Better

Hi. I'm Rick, and I'm raising money to help ensure Kara gets to and from every doctor visit necessary and to make sure I can regularly visit her while she's hospitalized to keep her spirits up.
Kara and I have been together for close to eighteen years. Through those years, she has battled many health issues. Kara has battled diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, and amputation, to name a few. She has been on oxygen therapy at home for several months and regularly goes to dialysis because she has end-stage renal disease. She also had three pressure ulcers form on her remaining foot that we have been treating via professional wound care and regular care at home.
She went to the hospital on the evening of September 2nd, 2022. She had finished dialysis but was still having significant difficulty breathing. She went to Witham Hospital here in Lebanon. She was discharged after what I loosely termed treatment and was home on September 17. On the evening of September 20th, she was back in an ambulance on her way to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
We chose Methodist because Kara still had difficulty breathing. We felt it was unacceptable, and answers were needed. At Methodist, she was told that there was inflammation in her lungs, which could cause breathing difficulty. Combined with this, her big toe was amputated due to an infection in the pressure ulcer. She had most of the ring finger on one hand amputated due to problems involving a now-tied-off dialysis fistula.
Now doctors are tackling Kara's problem with swallowing and aspirating food and drink into her lungs. She is estimated to be hospitalized for another week, with a flurry of follow-up visits and primary care appointments.
With fuel costs on the rise, as well as parking, vehicle maintenance, and any special dietary needs Kara may require when she is discharged, I am setting up this fundraiser to try and help her, to alleviate at least some of the stress she faces in the coming weeks, months and years.
