Hi everyone. Thank you so much for visiting this site in support of Kara, Evan and their two precious children, Jonah (age 13) & Brooklyn (age 5).
Just last month, March 2021, Kara was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma known as MCL, or Mantle Cell Lymphoma. She has already undergone a battery of tests, doctor's appointments, scans and biopsies.
She and her family traveled to M.D. Anderson in Houston this week and as I write this, due to an extremely enlarged spleen, she has been admitted to the hospital to undergo immediate chemotherapy and additional bone marrow biopsies. The plan is for her to remain in Houston for at least a week as she completes the first of four chemo treatments and then return home to finish out the remaining three treatments.
Because of COVID, she is not able to have any visitors. Evan and the children will be returning to Mobile soon as she remains in Houston to receive treatment.
As you can imagine, this is an extremely emotional and upsetting time for everyone, but especially for her children, Evan and her parents!
There is an immediate need for funds to help offset travel expenses and medical expenses. Please consider donating any amount to help this sweet, sweet family! Your donations help relieve at least a little bit of the stress that is inherent in this type of situation...the last thing they want to be worried about is money! So let's help relieve this pressure just a bit!
