My beautiful best friend Kara Whikehart was recently diagnosed with a PFO, which is a Patent Foramen Ovale, a hole in her heart that never fully closed after birth. Kara started having numerous strong palpitations this past week that gave her reason to make a doctors appointment. Unfortunately, after testing & scans, they discovered her PFO. She was admitted to St. Luke’s this morning when she started feeling really bad at work. The procedure she will be having will either be a catheter-assisted PFO closure under conscious anesthesia, or, if her further testing shows worse diagnosis, which is what her doctor is suspecting, she will have to have open heart surgery. Her insurance will not cover her surgery, which is why I created this GoFundMe.
Kara is such a strong, passionate, vibrant person and I would like to help her in anyway possible. Please, donate if you can. Even if it’s just a few dollars, the cost of a cup of coffee, anything helps.
