Kara's Journey: From Rescue to Recovery

Hello my name is Kara. Sadly I have torn my ACL while visiting my grandma and grandpa in Minnesota. I am going to need surgery to reconstruct the tendon and to add metal rods for support in my leg.
I first met my parents as a tiny puppy in Virginia. My mom woke up one morning and had this sudden urge to visit our local dog shelter. Once they got there they learned that my entire litter of puppies had been flown in from Puerto Rico. Our litter had been found on the streets and the shelter was able to rescue us. All of my siblings in the litter where super cute, but I really stood out.
From a young age I was a super playful and curious pup. I would terrorize my parents and my cousin dogs. As I got older I found a love for going to the beach, chasing squirrels and getting scared of the big waves in the ocean.
It was a really sad day for me when I tore my tendon. I was playing out side with my little brother as my parents packed up the car for our big drive back home to California. Out of no where I felt this crazy pain in my leg and yelled for my parents. They took me to the vet right away (which I hated and was shaking in fear the whole time cuz vets are mean and give shots) and my doctor was really nice. She took me into the back and put me under a machine that scanned my bones.
With all that the doctor let my parents know that I would need surgery. I could tell they were very sad. I really need this surgery and I thank everyone who helps.
Sincerely,
Kara
