These giants in the audio world are offering travelling training sessions this summer. I would like to attend the Transom seminar taking place in August in Athens Georgia - boy is that going to be hot.
Participants in the podcasting seminar will be creating profiles of locals in Athens over the week residency. By coincidence - is anything really a coincidence?- I just happen to have the best local to cover in Athens, GA! She has been a friend of mine for over 30 years.
She is a total inspiration. She has overcome severe addiction through Bikram yoga and now is a renowned teacher in Athens, GA, who is dedicated to helping those who are stuck in nightmarish lives.
I started my training in audio recording and editing in 2015 at The Oral History Summer School in Hudson New York with Suzanne Snider and Michael Garafolo from StoryCorps.
Since then I have created a podcast called AmagansettLand for The Amagansett Free Library, which is an ecclectic blend of our live events, interviews that I conduct with the fascinating, and edited collages of oral history interviews that I conduct through the library's oral history program.
I have just started a new venture called, Phantom Hampton: Stories From Where The Rest Of Us Live.

I will need help to pay for tuition to Transom, airfare to Georgia, meals, and loss of one week's work this coming August. I am hoping to cut costs by staying with friend for the week I am down in Georgia.
I feel like I have finally found my niche in the audio storytelling world and would love to get more training, and to rub elbows with some greats in the field.
