"Kareem and His Family: A Plea for Support
Here's the translation of the story:
Your donation can provide us to survive and rebuild our live and to continue my education
Kareem's family is suffering greatly in northern Gaza, amidst a continuous siege and inhumane conditions. This family, consisting of seven members, lives in a worn-out tent made of nylon and fabric, lacking the most basic necessities of life, such as safe shelter, food, and clean water. Every day, the family is in a constant search for temporary refuge or a place that provides them with some safety.
The head of the family, Iyad, was an active construction worker, but after suffering from a herniated disc in his back and an eye infection, he is no longer able to work, leaving the family without a source of income. The mother, Samah, suffers from thyroid cancer and cannot access the necessary treatment due to the war conditions, the siege, and the bombing of hospitals, which has increased her physical suffering.
The family’s sons, Alaa and Bashar, used to work to support the family, but the war destroyed their workplace, completely halting their lives. Dina, the oldest sister, dreamed of her wedding day, but the bombing of wedding halls shattered that dream, leaving deep psychological scars that make her appear older than her age.
As for Kareem, he was deprived of taking the high school exams; he dreamed of enrolling in medical school, but the siege and hunger forced him to search for food instead of pursuing his education. The youngest sister, Zeina, was also deprived of education after schools and educational institutions were destroyed.
The family lost their home and their car, which used to be a means for them to enjoy weekend outings. Today, they live without hope of returning to the life they once knew before the war. Kareem and his family are pleading for any assistance that would enable them to leave Gaza and seek a decent life elsewhere, even with the simplest means.
