Rick and Karen recover from a home burglary

Donation protected
On Sunday October 8, 2023 while Rick and Karen were in Ashland, Oregon supervising a field trip with 40 students, their home was burglarized.
Sadly their house and garage was gutted. All of their electronics and computers, most of their clothing and shoes, two of Rick’s guitars, all of Karen's jewelry, books, all camping equipment, vacuum, vases, tax returns and sensitive identity documents, sentimental items, and the list goes on and on.

They have been working with their homeowners insurance company, however, it will not come close to recuperating funds that will replace all that they lost. These funds will be used to help them recover from this devastating loss. A number of you heard about the incident over Fall Break and asked how you could support them, so I put this together on their behalf and with their permission.

Rick and Karen are pillars of the community and have selflessly dedicated over 25 years of their life to their students, their colleagues and friends, and their Natomas community. It's heartwarming to see the community come together to support Rick and Karen during this difficult time. In situations like these, the power of community support can make a significant difference. This is just one small way we can give back to them everything they have done for other's.
