Karen Archuleta Tennis Scholarship and Foundation

On May 27, 2022, Karen Archuleta lost her two-year battle with cancer. She was known across the local tennis community as always happy, and outgoing, with a big forehand, but, most importantly as an ambassador of tennis. Karen's love for the game did not end when cancer came into her life. She loved watching the Grand Slams - always cheering for Rafa!
Karen has many friends and family that loved her dearly and in her honor, we are looking to accomplish two things.
1. Establish a tennis scholarship in Karen's name at Sherman E. Burroughs High School where Karen played 4 years of high school Varsity tennis. The scholarship will go to a senior who has a passion for the game of tennis, and who exemplifies teamwork and team spirit - an ambassador of tennis like Karen.
2. Establish a Karen Archuleta Friends and Family Non-Profit Tennis Foundation to raise awareness of cancer, educate on the importance of prevention and early detection, and provide support for cancer patients and families in need. The Non-Profit Foundation will host tennis events, allowing everyone to contribute tax- deductible donations to promote awareness, provide education and support cancer patients and families.
