Donation protected
You have an opportunity to help our friend. Karen is the primary caregiver to her mother, Maureen and needs monetary help in the wake of Hurricane Ian’s impact on their lives. Karen's home, car and work have been majorly affected. You may know Karen from Phish, school, work, or just life.
Silence contagious in moments like these
Consumed me and strengthened my will to appease The passion that sparked me one terrible night
Had shocked and persuaded my soul to ignite

Grief, loss, pain, and hurt are all universal truths that we each experience at varying times in our lives. The last three years have been emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially hard on all of us. No one has been exempted from these truths. If you have seen the news, you know that Fort Myers Beach is gone, and the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area will take years to recover. All this means that Karen’s livelihood is also gone in the service industry until it is rebuilt. We are helping her with applying to FEMA for Assistance, Insurance claims, and other forms of governmental support. Still, as you can imagine, these services take time, and many are severely impacted, which means this will take a long time. Karen and Maureen need access to financial assistance and likely need to find temporary housing until they can contract people to help rebuild their home in Fort Myers
In 2021 her mother, Maureen, experienced a heart event that prompted Karen to relocate from Philadelphia to Fort Myers to act as her primary caregiver. The emotional strain from this move has impacted her significantly, yet she shows up daily for her mother and works to serve those vacationing in Fort Myers. Hurricane Ian has upended their lives; the flooding is already causing the carpets to mold/mildew. Maureen needs to be in a safe space to continue getting the care she needs.
Now is an opportunity to step up and help our friend Karen Baker. Karen Baker is a fighter, survivor, and overall scrappy woman who never gives up and is resilient AF. Karen is our friend; she is someone who you can chat with for hours on the phone about everything from politics to Real Housewives, and she always has an opinion. She is brave, resourceful, and kind and needs OUR help. Her mental health and stress levels are through the roof. I know that times are challenging and many of us are facing uncertainties of our own, but if you have anything to spare, please contribute.
Karen and Maureen will get through this, they need a little help for their friends so as KB would say, she can go ONward and UPwords.
