Karen Ebel fights Leukemia

Hi, my name is Neil Jaeger and I work with Karen at Mariner High School in Everett, Washington. You may know Karen from the work she does here at Mariner. She is the athletic secretary, she helps out in many functions at many sporting and school events. She is especially active in the wrestling program here at Mariner. Karen recently went to the doctor for chest pains. She has a history of heart problems and was afraid that she might have to spend some time away from work to get over the chest pains. In addition to her heart problems, she found out that she also has leukemia. As a result, Karen is no longer able to work. She will be forced to either resign and lose her health insurance or go on family medical leave and earn 80% of her normal wages. She was barely earning enough to cover her bills and living expenses, and now she is between a rock and a hard place. Karen does need help, but not that much nor for that long. Once she gets her retirement funds coming in she will be ok. She has family that can take care of her, but she will need help covering her deductibles and paying for rent and utilities.
