GoFundMe: In the memory of Karen Gehrke
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart, and great sadness that this request for donations is being made.
On Thursday, February 29th this world lost the kind soul of Karen Gehrke.
Those that knew Karen knew she had a heart the size of the ocean, she adopted those around her as family, and it brought her great joy to see her loved ones happy.
Karen lived to the age of 70, growing up in Brookings she had a great love for the coast and the redwoods, and could never get enough of the salty air and crimson sunsets over sandy beaches, these places were where she was at peace the most.
While in Brookings, Karen met the love of her life Roger Gehrke at the age of 18, they started a family, and had 2 daughters, which lead to 2 granddaughters that she loved fiercely.
Karen moved to Cottage Grove where she became a part business owner of Roger’s Collision Center for over 25 years, she took great pride in helping and giving comfort to her fellow community members after they had been through an accident.
Later in life, after being widowed, Karen retired and spent her days pursuing some of her favorite hobbies such as reading and painting.
She also enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family, and her beloved furry companion Scruffy Muffin.
It goes without saying that Karen’s absence is going to leave a lot of broken hearts behind. She had such a beautiful spirit, deserving of a beautiful farewell, and a beautiful receptacle to rest in. Any donations would be greatly appreciated so that we might send her off with the very best, and give her a celebration to help all the lives she touched find closure.
A date for celebration of life is yet to be determined, and inventions will be shared to all who are interested in attending. If you would like to be added to the list please email: Mgehrke1981 @gmail
Thank you for all your love and support.
