Karen Rose Kilbridge (48) died peacefully at home on June 25, 2019, surrounded by family, following a courageous and determined three-year cancer battle. Karen leaves an indelible mark on so many lives. Her spirit was infectious, her humor a lift, and her strength and resilience a model for all. Karen was a force, forging her own path in life and showing us how to fight for what you love, for what you need, for who you want to be.
Born in Colorado and raised in Hillsborough, CA, she moved to Sandy, UT in 1997 where she raised her four exceptional children. She worked for 20 years at JetBlue in customer care; in her late 30s, returned to school to become a nurse. Over the last decade, Karen nurtured her patients with heart, humility, and insight -- most recently in Intermountain Medical Center’s neurological intensive care unit.
Of all her roles, motherhood was her most cherished. She loved her children fiercely: Austin (21), Kendall (19), Savannah (14), and Dylan (12) Angerbauer (Sandy, UT). They were her closest friends and her total joy.
Thank you for the outpouring of kindness from so many who are eager to help her family at this time. The best way to support Karen's children is contribute to the Karen Kilbridge Memorial Fund to support end-of-life and memorial costs. After Karen's years-long battle with cancer and intense financial responsibilities, her children would deeply appreciate your help lessening this financial burden at this incredibly hard time.
Funds will be managed by her estate executor, her brother Phillip Kilbridge, in partnership with her oldest children Austin and Kendall Angerbauer.
