Karen Kiskadden

We (Jerry & Jeremy) are fundraising for Karen's memorial service because her life insurance said they will not pay out because the policy had not been active long enough.

We are meeting with the funeral home tomorrow (12/30) to discuss the cost, options, and the date of the service. We've been really caught off guard by the life insurance being contested, and we're very hurt and humbled to have to ask friends to contribute. Karen touched so many lives, whether it was taking care of her own family, many of her relatives, and hundreds of patients in the last few years. We've had people reaching all day and night the past few days and deeply appreciate it. She was so obsessed with helping people that 30 years after graduating high school she went back to college to become a nurse. It breaks our heart that this has happened to her just a year away from her retirement. (They also previously had a 25-year "term" life policy that ended during the pandemic when she was still going through chemo, so this has just been the ). En liue of flowers or gifts, the most useful thing would be to donate to this fundraiser so that we can have some type of service for everyone who's expressed a desire to come.
