An average funeral costs between six and twelve thousand dollars, though these online statistics omit personal costs which come once one must learn of funerals, planning and paying for a service while still affording their own bills. For funeral expenses, travel, and attending to her mother’s possessions, we ask help for Leah to navigate this financial burden among having to miss so much work.

A few weeks ago, early July 2023, Leah’s mom unexpectedly passed away. For anyone, especially a young woman, everything about this is an absolute nightmare. So is talking about, even thinking about, money. Words can’t do much, if anywhere, here, but people if able can help. Help is so much easier to give than to need, or at least it can feel that way.

We hope to help Leah feel lighter, to as much as we collectively can help carry what weight we might hold of the unending heaviness loss leaves. Whatever anyone can comfortably offer will make a difference, truly.
