Help Karen Kick Cancer

Please help us raise money for our friend Karen Harwood’s battle with cancer. Karen is a 10 year breast cancer survivor and will beat the odds once again!

Family is everything to Karen. She and her husband, Bruce, raised two wonderful sons, Graham and Gordon. Unfortunately, Karen tragically lost her husband six years ago. At the time of Bruce’s death, the boys were in high school, leaving Karen to raise two teenagers on her own. Now, they are both in college and she continues to be a central part of both their lives.

With the death of her husband, Karen has been navigating many daily responsibilities on her own. Recently, the devastating news came to her that cancer has returned.  She will have to put up a tremendous fight once again.

Karen successfully overcame her breast cancer but, unfortunately, it spread to her spine severely impacting day to day functions. Due to the fact that it is affecting the thoracic and lumbar portions of her spine her mobility is extremely limited causing her to need a walker and overall assistance in completing everyday tasks. On top of all this, she is limited in her ability to attend work and is unable to drive.

Karen is such an important person in many people’s lives.  She has so many friends due to her outgoing personality and love of adventure. Her love of life is so uplifting and fun to be around! Karen also knows how to be a good friend.  At the drop of a hat, she is there with a listening ear, or a helping hand. Karen is someone you can always count on through thick and thin!

Karen is in need of her friends and family at this time to help her on her journey to kick cancer.  Medical bills are overwhelming, and all of us want to alleviate some of Karen’s stress by generating funds to help our loving friend in this time of need.
