South Sudan's 1st Spay/Neuter Campaign
Tax deductible

During the 10-day campaign, we aim to sterilize 500 dogs and cats, who will also be provided a health screening, rabies vaccination, and basic care, including de-worming and treatment of external parasites, skin, ear, and eye problems, and injuries and wounds.
Importantly, we have enlisted the help of Kenya SPCA who have agreed to send 3 staff to South Sudan for the duration of the clinic to train South Sudanese vets and vet techs in high volume spay/neuter; train "cat and dog catchers" to humanely handle animals; and train community organizers to manage a campaign and provide humane education.
A significant focus of the campaign will be humane education for children and adults with the intention of using this clinic as a means of encouraging kinder treatment of animals.
Finally, with a cadre of trained local people and with the equipment and supplies obtained, our group intends to continue this spay/neuter and animal care effort so that spay/neuter will substitute for the inhumane alternatives currently used--poisoning and shooting.
