Karen's funeral collection

On September 17, 2019… Karen Zuniga: a daughter, sister, cousin, best friend, friend, student, and classmate to all has passed away. Her memories will always be in our hearts. Our beloved Karen will always be reminded as the girl that smiled through the good and bad moments in life. She was born in El Salvador and came to the United States in 2014. Her transition from living in her motherland to living in Los Angeles was a struggle. She had difficulties learning a second language, English, and making new friends. Most of her highschool days were spent at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles getting chemotherapy. She experienced many painful moments, but on June 2016 she had won her first battle against cancer. 2016 was an amazing year of winning her first battle, after being diagnosed with cancer in 2013. However, on April 17, 2017, she had a relapse. The leukemia had invaded 97% of her body. She had treatment after treatment, but none of the treatments seemed to stabilize her health. On August 2018, she had a second relapse and had the same treatments, but there was no luck with the treatments because her body system kept rejecting them. During the Fall of 2018, she left to Seattle, Washington to try new modern treatments to save her life, but none worked. On September 17, 2019, she lost the battle at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Throughout the six years of battling against cancer she held her head high up as she studied to graduate high school to make her family proud, received a president’s Volunteer Service Award for volunteering over 100 hours, and became friends with many of her highschool classmates/teachers. Her loss has left many of us devasted… but we ask you kindly from the bottom of the heart to take your time to donate money to the Zuniga’s Family for Karen’s funeral expenses.
