How you can help support Kari McCann
Spende geschützt
I'm reaching out to you on behalf of our dear friend, Kari McCann.
Kari had ankle surgery on January 25th, 2019 and shortly after complications arose. These complications have now become quite serious. The Doctors (ENT, and Neurologist ) have taken Kari out of work indefinitely and she is on short term disability. However, disability will eventually run out and disability may deny her at this point in time.
Kari will need extensive physical therapy for her foot, ankle, knee, and hip. She will also need extensive speech therapy due to the complications from surgery which left her with a drooping face, numbness, severe ear pain, and vertigo. Kari's speech and taste have been severely impacted. Kari is currently awaiting an MRI to determine what is going on within her brain which we hope results in figuring out what happened from surgery and or if another medical issue has arisen. She also has neck pain, numbness, and a swollen tongue with a laceration since surgery. Additional surgeries will be needed for her foot. On top of all of the complications, you should also be aware that Kari has an incurable connective tissue disorder which is called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. EDS is manageable through diet, low impact exercise, physical therapy, medication, alternative therapies, and surgery.
Kari has an extremely long road ahead of her with mounting medical bills. All of these are exorbitant expenses and the services she will need to recover are piling up quickly. By making a donation you'll be helping to pay down existing bills and to cover the following...
Doctors/ER visits
Diagnostic tests (MRI)
X-rays
High-end radiology
Surgical bills
$40+ co-pays
Medications
Chiropractic
Acupuncture (nerve pain)
Medical Massage to treat stiffness (pain)
Insurance
Above all, I've decided to start a GoFund because frankly, Kari is having an extremely difficult time and also has a 14-month old at home. Kari's boyfriend and son's father Andrae, is working double time in order to help pay down the mounting medical bills. If you can help my best friend out during this time in her life even if a little you'll be helping to support an amazing woman get back onto her feet literally. Kari wants nothing more than to heal and to be able to return to her full-time job in order to focus on being the amazing mother that she is.
A huge thank you to everyone for your love, encouragement, and support during this difficult time for Kari.
