Karina Martinez - Car Accident

Karina Martinez and her niece Kelsey Martinez, were recently involved in an awful car accident on Friday the 19th of October 2018, both have sustained serious traumatic injuries, and are currently in a private hospital. The help received from the medical team has been exceptional. We hope that both Karina and Kelsey recover fully with time and the right ongoing treatment, but nothing can be guaranteed. Karina and her family will need the funds to assist in paying the ongoing medical bills, assistance with rehabilitation, and to take the financial pressure off them at this difficult time. The medical bills are piling up and are already around $70,000 USD, this is only a week after the accident, so this will increase significantly.
Karina has been working for Hamanasi Resort as the Guest Services Manager for ten years. She also previously worked for Turtle Inn and Blancaneaux Lodge owned by Francis Ford Coppola. She is a single mother of one son, who is 13 years old. Kelsey is 17 years old, her father Rodolfo also works for Hamanasi in the Maintenance Department for 5 years, he is a single father.
Very few people in Belize have adequate medical insurance, and this is the case with Karina and her family. Private support is the only way she and her niece can get the care they need. Both Karina and Kelsey have had multiple surgeries for their extensive injuries. Karina had lung contusions, complicated fractures in both legs, arms and her jaw. Kelsey had her spleen removed and suffered serious liver damage, a fractured arm and a severed nerve in her arm.
Karina is a great friend to many so we want to show our support for her, and her family as they are unable to pay for the best medical care available in Belize.
Hamanasi Resort has volunteered to administrate the funds donated to ensure all are allocated to the vitally needed medical expenses.
