Dear friends, Karinya was diagnosed with metastatic disease from a malignant paraganglioma of the thoracic spine four years ago. Since then Karinya has had two spine surgeries and two rounds of whole body radiation all the while fighting her battle with a smile and bravery beyond her years.

Now, Karinya needs our help. She has started having significant bone pain from the bone metastasis, nausea, and headaches. Karinya recently found out that she is in need of weekly blood transfusions. Austin Blood Center charges $130.00 fee for those who donate and designate their blood to go a specific recipient. Karinya's blood type is O+ which means she can receive donations from people who are O+ or 0-.

The family would like to be able to help pay for everyone with the proper blood type to donate, however at this time that is not possible. We are asking amazing people to help one of two ways, the first being to make donations so that the family has the resources to find donors and sponsor the expense of their donation and other related medical expenses. The second way you can help is by letting us know if you are O+ or 0- and are willing to donate directly to Karinya at the Austin Blood Center.
