Kari's Vehicular Assault Recovery Fund

Hi, our names are TK Kearns & Yvette Brosz (Pinky) ~ Mom & best friend ~who are setting up this fund to help the Kitley family.  

On March 2nd 2022 Kari was t-boned by an SUV while riding her motorcycle near her home in Anaheim CA. The ambulance rushed her to UCI Medical Trauma Center where she was diagnosed with severe injuries to both legs and the right arm. She had 14 bone breaks but thankfully no internal organs  or brain injuries. She has had 11 surgeries thus far with 3 more additional ones on the horizon. Kari now has multiple metal implants to put her back together: 6 plates; 3 rods; 6pins; 2 nails and an uncountable number of screws. Kari was in the hospital for 38 days and is currently recovering in a hospital bed set up in living room at home. Round the clock care is needed as she is completely immobile under strict leg elevation orders. She is connected to a wound care VAC and just recently had an IV port removed. She is getting shots and lots of medication to help in her recovery. Her husband Kevin stayed by her side 24/7 the entire 38 days in the hospital and continues to be her primary source of care at home. Physical therapy, occupational therapy & home nurse care come to her weekly along with trips back to UCI for checkups and procedures. The road ahead is a long one for recovery but she has so many supporters in her family, friends, coworkers and community. The negligent driver's liability insurance is totally inadequate for Kari’s currant medical bills. The doctors have advised a future of indefinite surgeries and recoveries that in time she will require. Kari and Kevin have a large burden to bear now and in the future.
