Karli Jeffries Medical Expenses

Karli is a beautiful, courageous, 14 year old teenage girl who lives with her family (Mom-Tracy, Dad-Tom, brother-Austin, and her brother Dustin ) in beautiful North Idaho. On January 22nd, 2016, Karli was brought by ambulance to Kootenai Medical Center in CDA. She was then taken by Med Star to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. Karli was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with heart and respiratory failure. Karli has been in the PICU ever since, with her parents by her side. After many grueling days and tests, the genetics doctors have narrowed her diagnosis down to a disease of the muscles. Karli underwent a muscle biopsy that will be sent to a lab in Iowa to confirm which form of the disease she has, results could take up to 2 months. In the meantime, their goal is to get Karli’s lungs strengthened enough to get her off the ventilator and feeding tube and get her breathing on her own. Once they get the results of the biopsy, they will seek out their best option for treatment, and no matter what path that may lead to, they will go down it. Karli has a long road ahead of her. She has truly been a warrior throughout this trying time. She has amazed the doctors, nurses, staff, her family and her friends with her strength and determination. She is a WARRIOR!

We realize that there are and will be a lot of medical expenses in order to make sure Karli gets the best treatment and care possible. We would greatly appreciate if you would be able to help the Jeffries family financially. At this point, we are not sure what their Insurance will cover. All your financial support will go towards whatever insurance doesn't cover and towards their home expenses (bills, food, etc). Tom has missed work since Karli was admitted, as Karli needs her parents love and comfort by her side. Tom and Tracy have also been staying at the hospital, away from their home in Pinehurst, ID, since Karli was admitted. Please help them through this emotionally trying time. We are hoping to ease their financial burden so that they can focus on getting Karli strong enough to be released so that she can go home. What a blessing that day will be!
