Karolina's Legacy: Support Yas, Jarren, and Family
Donation protected
The world has lost an incredible soul far too soon. Our beloved Karolina (Karola) passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025. She was 45.
To friends, Karolina was “a literal sunshine;” her presence undeniably illuminated every space she entered. Whether she knew someone for a day or a lifetime, Karolina had a way of making those around her feel loved and seen.
Karolina was the vibrant, hip-hop-loving spirit behind the food and social justice platform, The Whole Revolution , where she created recipes that nourished the body and filled the heart while amplifying stories of inspiring people. As a lifelong advocate for social and climate justice, Karolina used her platform to address pressing issues like genocide, racial injustice, and the carceral system. The Whole Revolution wasn't just about the food–it was about the people and the stories; through each recipe, she used her cooking talents to unite and nourish us, in both body and soul.
For 15 years, Karolina radiated true love with her wife, Yas. Their devotion to one-another withstood the test of time unequivocally–spanning 3 states, 6+ cities, many Seahawk Sundays, brunches with friends, job losses, and family milestones. As their family grew, Karolina and Yas were role models to many, embodying steadfast devotion, providing support however possible, and standing up for what they believed in.
Throughout her life, Karolina gracefully balanced its dualities; she knew that life came with hardship, heartache, and loss, but also celebration, joy, and love. Having overcome many adversities, Karolina was excited to start building a life on Camano Island, where she and Yas moved in October to be closer to their son.
Karolina leaves behind her wife Yas, son Jarren, mom June, brother Sam, niece Seneca, niece Serafina, nephew Zane, and countless friends.
Karolina’s light will shine on in all of us, and we are absolutely heartbroken that she's gone.
The funds raised will go toward helping the family with funeral expenses and other costs associated with this tragic loss.
If you live in the Camano Island area, please also consider bringing groceries or meals to Yas as she navigates this loss. You can sign up for the meal train here.
Thank you for your support ❤️
