"Karting for Carolina" helping victims of Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
My name is Josh Bergman, I am a 9-year-old professional Go-Kart Racer, racing competitively in the USA and Europe. My happy place is North Carolina, where I spend most of my time year-round when not traveling and racing. On Friday, 27th September 2024, myself and my parents were trapped in our home in Linville, North Carolina, and we took a direct hit from Hurricane Helene. We experienced unprecedented rainfall and winds of up to 140 mph. Fortunately, our home withstood the hurricane with some damage, but the surrounding neighborhoods in Western North Carolina ,were not so fortunate. The community of Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain and the wider area that surround the Blue Ridge Mountains have lost their homes, businesses, and, in some cases, their loved ones. Nobody was prepared for this event.
I am now committed to helping this community in any way I can. I will be giving 100% of all funds raised here to help the people of Western North Carolina get back on their feet and to restore the way of life and the communities that make this area so special. Funds will be used towards emergency accommodation, food, tools and supplies for local residents.
I will be #KartingforCarolina during the next few months.
Please give what you can.
Thank you for your support...
