Karyn and Kennedy navigate tumor removal.

Hello, I wanted to come and update everyone. A few weeks ago Kennedy had her surgery for the tumor on her kidney. The test for RCC came back negative. I believe all of our prayers helped. We are so thankful and grateful for a successful procedure and a negative cancer result. She recovered very nicely. Your donations helped me focus completely on Kennedy in her recovery and also purchase her favorite foods in recovery ( Japanese cuisine, ice cream and Cheetos ). Hello, my name is Karyn Johnson. Mother to my sweet daughter Kennedy Johnson. Kennedy has been living with VACTER syndrome her entire 25 years of life. She has had multiple esophagus surgeries for trachea esophageal fistula, two open heart surgeries for her tetralogy of fallot, and multiple surgeries for her cloaca anomalies. Things seemed to have leveled out for the past 15 years medically until her diagnosis with severe rheumatoid arthritis approximately 2 years ago. A recent diagnosis of a tumor on her only functioning kidney, which they will test for renal cell carcinoma when it comes out; has brought us to our knees. While getting cardiac clearance we have also found out she may need another heart surgery. Kennedy has had to pay more copayments than her usual and I have had to miss many days of work. Any funds will be used to release some burden from us as we navigate the next few months. Some of you know Kennedy’s deep struggles since birth and know she is a genuine, kind-hearted and extremely positive family oriented individual. My heart aches for her as I wish I could take her pain and struggles away. Thank you family and friends. Karyn
