Kary's Cancer Journey

At the age of 23 my youngest sister Kary was hit with the news that she had stage 3 rectal cancer. She underwent chemo and radiation to fight it. She had genetics testing done and tested positive for BRCA1 gene. She had surgery to have a biopsy done but while they were in there they noticed her colon was about to erupt so they removed part of her colon. She had an Ileostomy bag and a mucus fistula bag placed without knowing she would wake up with that. Her life would never be the same. Then the biopsy came back stage 3 rectal cancer. Then came surgery number 2. They took out the tumor did a total hysterectomy to prevent ovarian cancer and took out both bags and replaced them with a permanent colostomy bag. Unfortunatly months later she was told she now had stage 4 rectal cancer metastasized to the liver. After 8 total rounds of chemo she underwent her 3rd surgery in a year and had her liver disected. Through this all Kary still had to get up everyday and take care of her 3 kids, ages 6, 4, and 3. At this point she could no longer work so she started making and selling pillows to make ends meet. May 1st 2019 she was told she was Cancer Free but did the chemo pill .... She had been having back pain and told her doctor about it. The doctor scheduled and appointment for 2 months out and unfortunaly by then on September 4th she found out the cancer came back in her spine. She had additional scans done on the 4th and on the 10th of September she was told she had 3 tumors on her liver, 2 tumors on her spine, 1 on her Psoas muscle, 1 on her lung by her heart and 1 on her shoulder. At this point they told her she was TERMINAL. Not curable but they want her to do more chemo and radiation to prolong her life as long as possible. Kary is an amazing mother who puts her kids first and would do anything to make sure they had what they needed even in her time of need. Shes an amazing person inside and out and we want her to be able to enjoy whatever time she had left making memories with her babies. The doctors didnt want to put a time frame on the remainder of her life so whether its 3 months or 3 years we want her to enjoy it.
Terminal Cancer at the age of 25 with 3 kids is something no one should go through. Please help her make amazing memories with her kids before she cant.
